Celebrating innovative education with Microsoft Partners in Learning > Microsoft Europe
Throughout the year, the Microsoft group Partners in Learning (PIL) hosts a series of professional development events and competitions for teachers and school leaders culminating in the Partners in Learning Global Forum, which this year took place in Washington, D.C. from November 7-10, 2011. Microsoft PIL is a global program focused on improving teaching and learning through the effective use of technology in the classroom.

Microsoft calls out Firefox and Chrome for security weaknesses | ZDNet
In a move that’s sure to raise hackles in Silicon Valley, Microsoft today debuted a new web site designed to raise awareness of security issues in web browsers.
When you visit the site, called Your Browser Matters, it allows you to see a score for the browser you’re using. Well, if you’re using IE, Chrome, or Firefox—other browsers are excluded. Not surprisingly, Microsoft’s latest release, Internet Explorer 9, gets a perfect 4 out of 4: -

Microsoft Office 2010 is available in different editions just like the Windows operating system. There is Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 or Office Professional 2010 for instance. And there is at least one version that is only available to OEMs: Microsoft Office Starter 2010. This version is usually only available for users who purchase a computer system at manufacturers who add it as one of the installed software programs that the system ships with.
